Frequently asked questions
Do I need an import licence to bring Indian food into Australia?
Most shelf-stable food products (ghee, honey, mustard, spices, grains) do not require a specific import licence, but they must comply with the Imported Food Control Act and DAFF biosecurity conditions. Some categories (dairy, honey) require an import permit.
What is the minimum order quantity?
MOQ depends on the product: 500 kg for ghee, 1,000 kg for honey, 5 MT for mustard seeds. Mixed containers across products are accepted from 1 x 20' load.
How is payment usually structured?
Standard terms are 30% advance bank transfer and 70% against scanned bill of lading. For repeat buyers and orders above USD 30k we accept letters of credit at sight from reputed banks.
Can you arrange private label packaging?
Yes. We offer private label and white label packaging for ghee, honey and spices including custom artwork, barcodes (GS1), nutrition panels and Australian compliance labelling.
What if a shipment fails DAFF inspection?
Our pre-shipment lab reports (FSSAI, microbiology, MRL, NMR for honey) are designed to pre-empt DAFF rejection. In the rare case of a hold, we share full documentation and assist with re-export or treatment options.
Do you offer samples?
Yes. We dispatch product samples within 5–7 days via DHL or FedEx. Sample cost is borne by the buyer and adjusted in the first commercial order.
